Tool head-to-heads

8 comparisons of the products you actually subscribe to — not the models inside them. Each one carries verified prices with the date we read them, app-store ratings with review counts, our 90-day sweep of what people are saying, our tested score where the tool has one, and each company’s own sentence about what it does with what you type.

Where we hold no verified answer, the row says so and links to the vendor’s page. That is the whole design: nothing here is written from memory, so a gap stays a gap until a scan closes it. Comparing models rather than products? Those live here →

Ranked boards

Two categories have enough tested tools to rank. Both rank on one basis only — our score from a published task suite — and both say so on the page.

Every head-to-head

What we track, by job

These groups come from the database, not from a list we maintain by hand. A category only becomes a ranked board when enough of its tools carry a tested score.

What we did not build, and why

Every line below is a comparison people search for and we could have generated something for. Each is missing because our database cannot carry it yet — not because nobody thought of it. They become possible the moment the evidence exists.

Midjourney vs Ideogram vs Canva AI

We hold zero verified claims for Midjourney and Ideogram — no price, no app-store listing, no dated screenshot. A comparison table where two of three columns say "not verified" is not a comparison.

Runway vs Synthesia

One verified claim each (a dated screenshot) and no priced plan for either. There is nothing to compare yet beyond what each says it does.

ElevenLabs vs Murf vs PlayHT

We track ElevenLabs but not Murf or PlayHT, so three-way voice-generator pages cannot be built from our data. They become possible the moment those tools are in the scan.

ChatGPT vs Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft publishes no price we could verify and no data-policy sentence we could quote, so the table would be one-sided. Copilot's app-store standing is on the chatbot board instead.

Best AI writing tool

No dedicated writing tool has a tested score: we can only score a tool when it names the model behind it, and none of Grammarly, Jasper, Copy.ai or Notion AI does. App-store stars measure the app, not the writing, so we will not rank writing quality with them. Our tested writing scores are for chat assistants and live on the writing board.

Best AI meeting notetaker

Otter, Fireflies and Fathom carry no verified price and no tested score. We hold app-store ratings for two of the three and a data-policy quote for each — enough for a head-to-head page, not enough to rank which one takes better notes.

Best AI voice generator

We track one voice generator (ElevenLabs). A ranking needs a field.

Best AI image generator

We hold no verified price or app-store rating for Midjourney or Ideogram, and no tested score for any image tool — judging images needs a vision panel we have not built.

Best AI video tool / Best AI automation tool

Two tools tracked in each, no tested scores, and no verified prices. Both are honest head-to-head pages and neither is a ranking.

Questions people ask

How many AI tools do you compare head-to-head?

8 comparisons, covering 22 of the 29 tools we track across 10 categories. A matchup only gets a page when we hold enough verified evidence to separate the tools on at least one measure — a tested score, a price we read off the vendor's own page, an app-store rating we can rank, or the company's own written data policy.

Do you take money from the tools you compare?

No. There is no affiliate relationship with any tool on this site today, and if one is signed the paid links are labelled at the link and disclosed above them on the page. Rankings are computed from tested scores and verified claims by code that cannot see which links pay.
